Robot mower will not leave the charger or loses its boundary

Use this flow when a robotic mower remains at the charging station, stops in the yard, cannot dock, or reports a boundary, loop, GPS, or RTK problem.

Safety first: pause the mower, keep people and pets clear, and never handle blades or moving parts while it can operate. Do not open the charging station, handle exposed wiring, bypass safety stops, or test around an unsafe yard condition.

What this flow is for

The mower is not leaving the charger, stopping in the yard, failing to dock, or losing its boundary or position. The first split is charging/schedule, boundary/docking, or GPS/RTK coverage.

First safe checks

  • Record model, exact message, last known-good run, and affected behavior.
  • Confirm the charging station has its normal status light and visible connections are seated; do not open it.
  • Verify charge state, date/time, schedule, and safety/obstacle messages.
  • Record boundary/loop status or GPS/RTK position status without bypassing the system.
  • Use only a documented, supervised docking or coverage test with the area clear.

Capture this before changing installation settings

Device state

Mower model, app/display message, charge state, station light, date/time, and schedule.

Failure shape

Does it fail to start, stop in the yard, fail to dock, show no loop, or lose GPS/RTK?

Site change

Recent landscaping, boundary/guide wire, station, antenna, Wi-Fi, firmware, weather, or map changes.

Most likely problem buckets

Charging or schedule

Station power, charge state, schedule, date/time, or a safety stop prevents departure.

Boundary or loop

A boundary/guide connection or wire-break condition affects a boundary-wire installation.

Docking path

Station placement, guide route, obstacle, or boundary path prevents reliable docking.

GPS or RTK coverage

Satellite, antenna, cloud, or local coverage conditions affect a wire-free installation.

Take one step at a time

ACT-MOWER-001

Capture model, exact error, station light, charge state, schedule, and last known-good run.

ACT-MOWER-002

With the mower paused and area clear, verify visible station status, charge state, date/time, schedule, and safety messages.

ACT-MOWER-003

Use only the model's documented supervised docking, boundary, or coverage test.

ACT-MOWER-004

Hand off wiring, station, battery, blade, electrical, GPS/RTK installation, or repeated safety-stop work.

Best follow-up ask

Does the mower charge normally, and does the charging station show its expected status light?

When to stop and hand off

Escalate when safe checks do not restore operation or the evidence points to wiring, station, battery, blade, electrical, GPS/RTK installation, or an unsafe yard condition.

Reviewed against official Husqvarna guidance

This vendor-neutral flow uses common low-risk checks from Husqvarna Automower support. Model-specific installation and repair instructions still take precedence.

Map the equipment

Record the mower, charging station, boundary or coverage evidence, and handoff notes privately.
